OFFSHORE: Not a bad looking forecast for the upcoming weekend. Look for some nice dolphin to be caught in 200-400' of water wit the east/northeast wind. Trolling the usual assortment of trolling baits and lures should produce some dolphin bites, as will live baits flown from the kite. Mixed in with the dolphin have been some nice blackfin tuna, as well as a few wahoo. A small tuna feather deserves a spot in the trolling spread for sure. The kingfish remain scattered along the 120' ledge from the Juno Beach Pier up past Jupiter Inlet. Snapper fishing remains strong with a nice assortment of snapper around. Sardines and squid are top bait choices for the bottom right now. INSHORE: Snook fishing inshore continues to fire off pretty good right now. Look for the schools of finger mullet and the snook won't be too far behind. Mixed in with the snook should be a few small (and maybe some big) tarpon. A live finger mullet fished on the outside edge of the school or underneath is a good bet; as is a loud noisy topwater. The mullet will be moving around a little more at night, so don't be afraid to go looking for them after the sun goes down. Try and isolate (or present lures to) your baits to the outside edges and underneath the bait schools for the best luck. If fishing at night isn't your deal, look for the low light periods of the day to be the best bet. SURF/PIER: A bit of a slower week on the beach, but the pods of mullet are still rolling through form day to day. One day maybe loaded up with the mullet, and the next a bit of a ghost town. The tarpon are still with the mullet, as are a growing number of sharks and bluefish. The snook are thinning out on the beach, but a few do still remain in the mix. As mentioned above in the inshore report, try to present your bait or lures to the outside edge of the bait schools or underneath for the most luck. Spanish mackerel action has increased over the past week, with a few being caught pretty much daily from the pier. Pompano, mostly small, are biting a little early and late in the day on sand fleas and fishbites. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...SOUTHEAST WINDS 5 TO 10 KNOTS. SEAS AROUND 2 FEET.
