OFFSHORE- Despite really nice weather for most of the week; the fishing was relatively slow offshore. A scattering of sailfish up and down the line; but again no big pack of fish. Those really spending the time with the kites up and the spread out are seeing a few fish from the Juno Beach Pier to north of Jupiter Inlet. Depth has bounced from 150ish-225' depending on conditions and bait. Saturday (kind of...) has good looking sailfish conditions but it won't be for those with a weak stomach. A handful of dolphin reports coming in. As is usual for this time of year it has been primarily smaller packs of better size fish around. A few were caught by those livebaiting for sailfish, and a few by those trolling strips and ballyhoo out a bit deeper. The edge of the Gulfstream has pushed in fairly close; with the hope being the dolphin fishing would be good on the edge of it. As of the time of writing I haven't heard any reports back on wether that theory worked out. Bottom fishing has been pretty good this week. Early in the week the current was ripping, but it has slowed a bit over the past few days. Some nice mutton snapper reports coming in, along with a pretty good numbers of yellowtail snapper as well. Sardines and squid remain the top two bait choices for the bottom.
INSHORE- Tough fishing inshore this week. Snook season opened back up, but snook fishing as a whole remains a bit tough locally. The shrimp jig is still producing a few bites around the bridges at night. Look for outgoing tide to be best, especially in areas that have cleaner water. That slightly dirtier water on outgoing tide is often the ticket to trick finicky snook. During the day the snook will be laid up around seawalls and boat docks with dark mud bottom. The dark bottom heats up quicker and the snook will be more active. Sheepshead fishing remains fair. Inshore reports have been a bit better than reports coming out of the inlets. Although both Jupiter and Palm Beach Inlet have both been producing a few sheepshead. Live shrimp is a top bait choice for the sheepshead. Palm Beach Inlet continues to hold a pretty good number of jacks. A lot of them are in the 1-3lb range, with some bruisers mixed in as well. Also a fair number of tarpon moving around Palm Beach Inlet as well. SURF/PIER- Fishing was pretty slow both on the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier this week. Despite nice calm conditions and good looking water the fish just didn't show in any numbers. The pier produced a handful of Spanish Mackerel on crappie jigs. A few jacks cruised through the pier as well early in the week. A lone snook or two were caught by those very patiently fishing sardine chunks under the T. Pompano fishing remains very slow locally. Better pompano reports have been coming in from up northern (Hutchison Island and Fort Pierce) beaches. Spanish Mackerel have not been holding in Peck's Lake this week. Hopefully a hard blow this weekend shakes things up a bit. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...SW winds 5 to 10 kt along the coast to SW 10 to 15 kt in the Gulf Stream. Seas 1 to 2 ft. Period 3 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A chance of showers with a slight chance of tstms in the afternoon. SAT...E NE winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts to around 40 kt. Seas 7 to 9 ft, occasionally to 11 ft along the coast and 8 to 11 ft, occasionally to 14 ft in the Gulf Stream. Intracoastal waters very rough in exposed areas. Showers with a slight chance of tstms. SUN...Along the coast, E SE winds 10 to 15 kt becoming S SW in the evening. In the Gulf Stream, E SE winds 15 to 20 kt becoming S 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Seas 5 to 8 ft, occasionally to 10 ft subsiding to 4 to 6 ft, occasionally to 8 ft in the afternoon. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Showers through the day. A slight chance of tstms in the afternoon. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Sailfish bite remains fair offshore, with conditions looking really good for them coming into the weekend. It was this weekend last year (But with a stronger front) that the first big body of fish showed up...will history repeat itself??? Sailfish bite has kind of jumped up and down the line; so keep an eye out for good conditions and one ear on the radio. Should be some big dolphin mixed in with the sailfish, along with the occasional cobia. A fair scattering of kingfish in along the 120' ledge, including some really big ones. Bottom fishing was pretty good early in the week, with some nice mutton reports coming in.
INSHORE- Snook season opens back up next week...good weekend to do a little scouting for them. Overall sbook fishing has been a bit slow, but those putting in the time have been finding a few in the usual wintertime hangouts. The shrimp jig bite is still on at night. Look for slightly cloudy water and fair tide movement (generally outgoing) for best luck on the snook. A handfukl of inshore pompano reports coming in from Hobe Sound and Lake Worth. A bright colored Doc's Goofy Jig is the best bet for the pomps. Small jacks, blue runners, and ladyfish will also jump all over a Doc's Goofy Jig. Sheepshead reports slowed a bit this week, but still a decent number around. Shrimp and sandfleas remain the best bet for the sheepshead. SURF/PIER- Somewhat slow fishing this week both on the beach and at the pier. A slow pick of pompano being caught, but no numbers to speak of. From the beach its been Fishbites, sandfleas, and clams. From the Juno Beach Pier the same baits will work well, as will the Doc's Goofy Jig. Some good schools of jacks cruising the beach along Singer Island and Palm Beach Inlet. Look for the jacks to be most active early morning and late afternoon. The tarpon have also been hanging around Palm Beach Inlet in fair numbers. No bluefish or Mackerel action to speak of this week; hopefully the front this weekend helps get some pointed in our direction. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...N NE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft along the coast and 4 to 6 ft, occasionally to 8 ft in the Gulf Stream. Period 6 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. SAT...E NE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 4 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. SUN...E winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. A chance of showers, mainly in the morning. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Sailfish action remains fair, with some decent numbers coming in if you land on the right little pack of fish. Sails remain scattered up and down the line; with the trollers catching them up to the north, and the live baiters picking away at them from the Juno Beach Pier down to the Lake Worth Pier. Best depth has been fairly steady in the 120-200' range for the most part. A handful of good dolphin reports coming in this week. Best depth on the dolphin has been in the 300-500' range. Not big numbers of dolphin around; but good size overall on those that are. Expect a few wahoo to be around on the new moon this weekend. Wahoo bite will likely be better down to the south, but a few should be scattered along the drop in Juno/Jupiter as well. Bottom fishing remains pretty good; with a mix bag of snapper in the mix, along with a cobia or two as well. Sardines and squid will be the best bait choice for the bottom. Out deep the swordfish bite remains solid, with some good size fish in the mix!
INSHORE- Sheepshead reports remain pretty good inshore right now. Live shrimp is a reliable bait choice for the sheepshead. Palm Beach Inlet has been holding a decent number, as have area bridges and boat docks as well. Dock and bridge pilings with lots of growth (Barnacles in particular) on them are a great spot to start looking for the sheepshead. The Munyan Island flats are holding a fair number of jacks, along with a stray pompano or two. Catch and release snook fishing began to improve later in the week with warming weather. Snook season is just around the corner...time to start looking around for them! SURF/PIER- Good pompano fishing early in the week when the swell was up. The Juno Beach Pier had a pretty good number of pomps caught; with most coming on bright colored Doc's Goofy Jigs and a few on bait. A fair number of bluefish and jacks around early in the week as well with the swell. Calmer conditions and south winds later in the week did slow things back down. Conditions do look good for the fish to bite along the beach and at the pier on Saturday (At least in theory!). Spanish Mackerel action slowed way down at Peck's Lake with dirty cold water pushing in. Shark action along the beach improved a bit this week. Fresh chunks of bait at night are the way to go for the sharks. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...S SW winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 1 foot. Period 3 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SAT...E NE winds 5 to 10 kt becoming E in the afternoon. Seas 1 to 2 ft. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SUN...S winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas around 3 ft. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd Colton just out doing Colton things again this week witha solid Swordfish! (Give him a follow on IG @coltoncz7) OFFSHORE- Sailfish action remains fair; and conditions look ideal for them going into the weekend. The best bite on the sailfish has been from just south of Palm Beach Inlet to the end of the (Singer Island) condos. Bite remains pretty good in 130-200' of water depending on conditions, with sardines (if you can find them) being the absolute ticket for the sails right now. They will bite gogs and runners under the kite good; but a nice live sardine makes them go stupid. Pretty good wahoo bite locally on the backside of the full moon. Bottom fishing reports remain fair to good: One day the snapper bite great and the next day its a grind. With the way the forecast looks for the weekend...guessing won't be a whole lot of bottom fishing going on.
INSHORE- Kind of tough fishing inshore this week. Snook fishing was slow, and will likely not improve with a hard front on the way. Sheepshead action has been fair, but not red hot. A few black drum mixed in with the sheepshead. Live shrimp will be a good bait choice for the sheepshead and the black drum. The cold front could help push some fish onto the flats around Munyan Island. Palm Beach Inlet continues to hold some good schools of jacks. SURF/PIER- This week saw fairly slow fishing both along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier as well; with most of the better reports continuing to come from Hobe Sound and north. A hard front pushing through this weekend will likely (at least in theory SHOULD) push some fish our way. Those grinding it out on the beach did find a few bluefish this week, with most of them coming at night on cut bait. A few pompano around, but no numbers to speak of. Spanish Mackerel remain very thick in Peck's Lake; with some scattered schools along the beach in Hobe Sound as well. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...W SW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft. Period 3 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. A slight chance of showers in the morning, then a chance of showers in the afternoon. SAT...NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt along the coast to NW 20 to 25 kt with gusts to around 30 kt in the Gulf Stream. Seas 4 to 6 ft, occasionally to 8 ft along the coast and 6 to 9 ft, occasionally to 11 ft in the Gulf Stream. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. SUN...N winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft, occasionally to 9 ft. Intracoastal waters a light chop. .SUN NIGHT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt. Seas 4 to 6 ft, occasionally to 8 ft. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd Jeff picked off a nice one this week... OFFSHORE- Sailfish bite seems to be picking up a bit. As I write the report, I've been keeping an eye on the West Palm Beach Fishing Club's "Silver Sailfish Derby" (Live Scoring Link: westpalmbeachfishingclub.org/silver-sailfish-derby-standings/). It's not record setting numbers; but the fifty boat field is averaging better than a fish per boat. Top boat (again at time of writing) has four releases, and with better conditions expected tomorrow I would guess it will take ten plus releases to win this year. Waiting to hear where the bite is best at on the sails. Will add in an update to report or throw it up in Instagram story when I find out. Scattering of dolphin and a few big blackfin tuna have been mixed in with the sailfish. A handful of wahoo caught the past few days. With a full moon a few days away expect a few more to slide into the mix. (Other side note...Bahamas wahoo action remains very good on the tide changes!) Bottom fishing was fair this week, with some nice yellowtail and mutton snapper being caught. Sardines remain the bait of choice on the bottom.
INSHORE- Sheepshead action has been good inshore; and a passing cold front should help keep them fired up. A pretty decent number of sheepshead in Palm Beach Inlet; with live shrimp being a great way to go bait wise for them. Also a fair number of sheepshead inshore around local bridges and boat docks. Jacks have also been cruising Palm Beach Inlet in decent numbers. A passing cold front this weekend should help fire the jacks up along the north jetty. Catch and release snook fishing slowed a bit this week, but still a handful of fish biting. Live shrimp or a shrimp jig fished through shadow lines with good current should find a few snook. Smaller baits are thew way to go for the snook right now. Cooler water slows down their digestion, and they just don't want to work as hard to chase down a meal. SURF/PIER- Fishing was a bit slow this week along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier; not overly surprising as conditions became very calm and clear early in the week. The calm clear water makes for a nice beach day, but does little to help fishing in the wintertime. A few Spanish Mackerel were biting white crappie jigs at the Pier early in the week. Scattered bluefish were caught along the beach from the pier to Jupiter Inlet, but not in any large numbers. Pompano reports were slim as well this week. It does sound like fishing was a little better up to the north. Hobe Sound seemed to be holding a few more fish; especially early in the morning and late in the afternoon. The Spanish Mackerel, including a fair amount of jumbos, have filled into Peck's Lake in big numbers (For new readers, and/or those who just don't know what "Peck's Lake" is; it is an area south of St. Luice Inlet in roughly 20-30' of water that holds a large population of winter/spring Spanish Mackerel. While schools of Mackerel may push into casting range from the beach; most are caught from the boat.) NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...N winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft along the coast and 3 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft in the Gulf Stream. Period 6 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. SAT...NE winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft along the coast and 3 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft in the Gulf Stream. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. SUN...E winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd Looks like everyone wants a VS these days.... Shop Update/Holiday Hours:
New Year's Eve-Regular Hours(6am-6pm) New Year's Day-6am-12pm OFFSHORE- Nice looking marine/weather weekend forecast coming up for a change. Sailfish action remains fair; though we aren't looking at ideal conditions this weekend (Although ideal conditions haven't exactly produced the best sail bites the past few years...so who really knows!). Look for the sailfish to be in 150-250' of water, and largely scattered up and down the line from Palm Beach to north of Jupiter Inlet. Live goggle eyes and small blue runners under the kite will be the way to go for the sailfish. Dolphin remain scattered in with the sailfish. It is not big numbers of dolphin, but the ones around have been decent size. Bottom fishing remains very good for this time of year, with a nice mix of snapper and other assorted bottom dwellers around (Friendly reminder that grouper season closes 1/1). Did have a cobia report or two come through this week...about time for them to start showing up in decent numbers as well. INSHORE- Warming weather (after the hard front XMas weekend) this week has helped get the inshore fishing going. Catch and release snook fishing picked up the most, with the shrimp jig bite going off at local bridges. Lake Worth Lagoon has had a good number of jacks around, including some really big ones. Topwater poppers have been getting some crushing bites from the jacks. Sheepshead action also has been very good this week. Pompano reports up on the Sailfish flats in Stuart remain good. Light weight (1/4 and 3/8oz) Doc's Goofy Jigs in bright colors are the way to go for the Pompano (And other assorted bycatch like jacks, runners, ladyfish, etc.). SURF/PIER- This week saw some really really good action along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier. For all around numbers and consistent action; bluefish have been a solid bet. Good numbers of blues around up and down the beach, and at the pier as well. Loud noisy topwaters and GT Ice Creams have been a great choice for the bluefish early and late in the day. As the sun gets up in the sky a bit, a sub surface lure (Spoon, diamond jig, Yo-Zuri Monster Shot, etc) or some cut bait is going to be a good choice. Spanish Mackerel have also been scattered up and down the beach in big numbers. A smaller diamond jig or Yo-Zuri Monster Shot have been the way to go for the Mackerel on the beach: while white crappie jigs have been working well on the pier for the macs. Pompano fishing has been good as well this week; with some pomps being caught on the pier but better numbers coming from the beach. The big news this week from the pier was some big kingfish coming over the rail. It was a short bite on the passing front, but the kings were fired up on Rapala XRaps and Yo-Zuri Longcast minnows. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...E winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft. Period 4 seconds. A slight chance of showers. SAT...S SE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt. Seas around 2 ft. SUN...S SW winds 5 to 10 kt becoming SE in the evening. Seas 1 foot. MON...E SE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt. Seas 1 to 2 ft. Thanks For Reading, Todd Our friend Jaret cashed in on the short king bite on the Pier this week! Christmas Eve- Open 6AM-12PM
Christmas- Closed OFFSHORE- The weather hasn't allowed for a whole lot of fishing; but a few boats have managed to sneak out for a look around. Sailfish bite has not really fired off yet; but has been enough fish around to make putting the kites up worth it. Conditions look awesome for the sailfish to pop off on Christmas Day. Wouldn't be surprised if somebody racks up double digit releases on Sunday or Monday. Expect some big dolphin to be mixed in with the sailfish. Best depth will likely be 120-200' of water. Keep an eye out for rips and color changes as well. Live goggle eyes or blue runners under the kite and smaller baits (Pilchards, threads, sardines) on the flats is always a good way to go. If kite fishing isn't your thing, trolling small ballyhoo and bonita strips should also raise some fish. Bottom fishing reports remain good. A nice mixture of snapper and still a good amount of red grouper around as well. INSHORE- A cold front blowing through Friday afternoon is going to mix the inshore fishing up a bit. Ahead of the front catch and release snook fishing has been pretty good. Best action has been a little further up the river and/or ICW (Incoming ocean water has been pretty gross and has the bite slowed down). Hard front this weekend will slow the snook fishing down though for sure. Sheepshead reports picked up a lot this week. A pretty good number of them around Palm Beach Inlet, along with quite a few around area bridges as well. Live shrimp is a good bait choice for the sheepshead. Expect a black drum or two to be mixed in with them as well. Good pompano reports coming out of Stuart Sailfish flats this past week. SURF/PIER- Pompano reports improved a bit this week along the beach; and a hard front this weekend will likely push more down our way. The usual assortment of baits (Sandfleas, Clams, Shrimp, Fishbites) should produce a few bites out of the pompano. Bluefish action picked up a bit this week as well. Cut mullet and sardines are working for the bluefish as are spoons and poppers. Spanish Mackerel action is still a bit slow; but has slowly started to pick up as well. Pretty decent reports on the blacktip sharks for those looking for something a little bigger to pull on. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...W winds 10 to 15 kt becoming N NW. Seas 2 to 3 ft along the coast and 3 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft in the Gulf Stream. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A chance of showers and tstms. SAT...N NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 4 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft along the coast and 6 to 7 ft, occasionally to 9 ft in the Gulf Stream. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. SUN AND SUN NIGHT...N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft along the coast and 4 to 6 ft, occasionally to 8 ft in the Gulf Stream. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A chance of showers. MON...N NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. A slight chance of showers in the morning, then a chance of showers. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Fishing was pretty decent this week for those that could make it out. Sailfish action picked up late in the week, with a couple of boats getting a half dozen plus shots. Best action on the sails seemed to be from the end of the (Singer Island) condos up to just north of the Juno Beach Pier. Best reports seemed to be in the usual 130-200ish range; with a bulk of the action coming in the afternoon. A few good dolphin in the mix; all pretty much in the same area as the sails. Live baits under the kite are the way to go for both the sails and the bigger dolphin. Trolling ballyhoo or bonita strips will also pick away at the dolphin. Bottom fishing reports slowed a bit (largely due to the weather), but still some good snapper and even a few grouper around.
INSHORE- Snook season is closed now, but still some decent catch and release action to be had. Snook are starting to settle into their wintertime feeding habits. The shrimp jig is getting bit well at night around the bridges on moving water (can be incoming or outgoing tide depending on location). During the day look for snook to be laid up on or near dark mud bottom. The darker bottom warms up quicker and holds heat longer. Sheepshead action inshore has started to pick up. Still haven't heard of any big schools of sheepshead in Palm Beach(Lake Worth) Inlet...but it's about time for them to show up. A few more fish starting to show up around Munyon Island with water temps beginning to drop. SURF/PIER- Pompano action improved this week along the beach. Key to the pompano has been finding some good looking water. North of the Juno Beach Pier has been holding a few fish. The Juno Beach Pier saw some improved action later in the week. A handful of Spanish Mackerel and assorted bottom fish made a showing. Not red hot action, but a few fish for those putting in the time. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...N winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A slight chance of showers and tstms. SAT...E NE winds around 10 kt becoming E in the evening. Seas 2 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft. N NE swell 3 ft. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. A slight chance of showers in the morning, then a chance of showers with a slight chance of tstms. SUN...N NW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 20 kt along the coast to N 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt in the Gulf Stream. Seas 4 to 6 ft, occasionally to 8 ft. NE swell 3 ft in the morning. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. A chance of showers, mainly in the morning. Thanks For Reading, Todd Just in this week...NLBN Mini Mullet! OFFSHORE- Overall a pretty decent week offshore. Sailfish action is not red hot, but those putting in the time continue to pick away at the releases. Dolphin fishing remains good to fair in 200-400' of water. Trolling small ballyhoo and bonita strips remains a good bet for the dolphin. A few wahoo in the mix with the moon, along with a decent scattering of kingfish. Also a handful of really nice blackfin tuna around (check the pic below of a really nice one Jeff caught early in the week). Bottom fishing has been very good; with a nice mix of snapper and occasional grouper in the mix. And for those looking a little deeper, the bottom has been alive with a pretty good assortment as well. Some good tilefish and assorted other deepwater species.
INSHORE- Snook fishing has slowed a little inshore as the water begins to cool off. The snook are definitely beginning to key in better on smaller baits and shrimp (Easier for them to digest in cooler weather/water). The shrimp jig bite at night around the bridges is good; with the flairhawk and swimbait bite beginning to slow down a bit. With mixed water conditions the best bite has varied between incoming and outgoing tide. During the day the snook are laid up around boat docks and seawalls, especially in areas with dark mud bottom. A live mullet presented to them remains the best bet. A few jacks cruising the same areas as the snook. Sheepshead reports (and/or at least sightings) continue to trickle in; along with a handful of black drum. SURF/PIER- Middle of the road fishing reports this week along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier. Scattered reports on the pompano up and down the line; but not red hot fishing quite yet. Those spending time on the beach are seeing a few on a fairly regular basis. Bluefish action has started to improve. Early morning and late afternoon have been the best bet for the bluefish. The Juno Beach Pier has had a few Spanish Mackerel around as well. Still mixed water conditions along the beach...find the cleaner better looking water and the fish won't be too far behind. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...N winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SAT THROUGH SUN...N NE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft, occasionally to 5 ft. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd IMPORTANT SHOP NOTE- CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 7th!
The Parking lot is going to be completely closed for resurfacing, and will not be useable. We are planning on reopening Thursday December 8th regular hours (Please note...Parking lot will likely be blocked off in the morning still!) if the project goes smoothly: HOWEVER, we may need to adjust. OFFSHORE- Looks like it's going to be another blowout this weekend offshore. The fishing this week was pretty good when the weather allowed. The dolphin reports remain pretty solid, with most of the fish coming in 150-300' of water. Trolling ballyhoo and bonita strips remain an easy way to target the dolphin. The dolphin will also readily slurp down a live bait meant for sailfish in the same depth range. A few sailfish reports this week; with a handful of boats getting multiple chances. Wahoo reports were slim from Jupiter to Palm Beach; but still a few being caught down towards Boynton. Bottom fishing remains good, with some really good yellowtail reports and a scattering of muttons. INSHORE- Snook fishing remains the best bet inshore. A windy forecast this weekend will likely help fire them up. The wInd isn't easy to fish in a lot of times, but it can really help fire up the bite. Look for the snook to be laid up along seawalls and under boat docks during the day. Use the wind (and current) to let the baits float right in on them. Mixed in will no doubt be a few jacks and still some tarpon as well. The bridges continue to produce a decent snook bite at night. The shrimp jig bite continues to come on strong! The jacks have been roaming Palm Beach Inlet pretty good; and conditions look good for them to be around solid this weekend. No sheepshead reports yet from Palm Beach Inlet...but it is getting to be about that time! SURF/PIER- Water along the beach finally started to clear up this week; and the fishing improved drastically with clearing conditions(Hopefully it doesn't go away to bad with the windy weekend forecast). The Juno Beach Pier saw the best action; with a nice mix bag of pompano, bluefish, and Spanish Mackerel. The pompano were caught best on Doc's Goofy Jigs; with a few coming on sandfleas and FishBites as well. The Bluefish were biting poppers and diamond jigs the best. Chunks of mullet and sardines will also get the bluefish's attention. Still a handful of snook around the pier as well. Best way to go for the snook is dead bait chunks fished very patiently under the pier (It's boring, and can be annoying with the bluefish...but its effective!). The Spanish Mackerel have been biting white crappie jigs the best. Some really good croaker reports coming in from along the beach north of the pier. The bluefish are also along the beach in good numbers. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...E NE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 5 to 7 ft, occasionally to 9 ft. Period 7 seconds. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. A slight chance of showers in the morning. SAT THROUGH SUN...E NE winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to around 25 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd Be Sure to check the tree for daily deals when you come in the shop!
