OFFSHORE- Pretty good mixed bag action offshore this week. Sailfish action remains good for late in the season. Decent number of dolphin around, but they remain very scattered depth wise. Blackfin action is good in 200-300' of water. Troll small feathers for best luck on the tuna. The Yo-Zuri High Speed Vibe has also been producing some very nice sized blackfin. Kingfish action has been very good in 120-150' of water. Cobia remain scattered along the 120' ledge as well. Overall, it's very good spring time fishing offshore right now. NIce looking forecast for the weekend...take advantage of it!
INSHORE- Snook fishing remains good inshore, and with the ability to get access snook reports should improve. THe snook are definitly pushing towards the inlets, with bridges close by being a great starting spot for them. Look for bigger swimbaits and jigs to be good for the snook now, as they key in on bigger baits. Lots of bait inshore right now, so jacks and tarpon should be around as well. About time for some mangrove snapper to start showing up inshore. SURF/PIER- Surf reports up to the north have been very good. Pompano fishing has been very good, with some nice size fish in the mix Sandfleas, clams, and FishBItes have all been working well for the pompano. Croakers and whiting have been biting good on small pieces of shrimp. Some nice schools of jacks cruising around to test your tackle. Snook are starting to show up a little bit on the beach. Some tarpon cruising the beach as well. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...North winds 5 to 15 knots. Seas around 2 feet along the coast and 2 to 4 feet with occasional to 5 feet in the Gulf Stream. Period 5 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...East winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Dolphin reports remained good this week, just a wider swing on where to find them. One day it was 300-500' of water, and the next it was 1300'. No extreme pattern to it, so keep your eye out for good water and signs of life to find the dolphin. Springtime fishing in 150-300' of water has been in full swing. Still a good number of late season sailfish around. Blackfin tuna action remains good. Kingfish bite has been really good in 120-150' of water. The kings have been bouncing around a bit, but the Juno Beach Pier to Jupiter Inlet remains pretty consistent. Lots of cobia around over the past week. Snapper fishing remains very good...just have to manage to sneak them up past the sharks!
INSHORE- Snoolk fishing remains good inshore; they definitly have their noses pointed to the inlet. Access remains a bit of a problem, but if you can find a spot the snook have been cooperating. We have some super cool custom snook jigs in-stock that have been producing very well! Look for outgoing tide to produce the best action. A few mangrove snapper reports starting to come in from inshore. Sandperch action remains pretty good in the ICW as well. SURF/PIER- The Juno Beach Pier remains closed, with no timeline for reopening at the moment. With beach access cut down to basically nothing, surf reports remain very slim. Conditions look right for the pompano to be along the beach the past few days. Spring/summer bait is slowing up along the beach. Hearing some reports of tarpon and jacks moving along the beach. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...South winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 25 knots along the coast to south 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 25 knots in the Gulf Stream. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Period 5 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Chance of showers in the morning, then showers likely and chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. SATURDAY...South southwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Showers likely. Chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. SUNDAY...Southwest winds around 10 knots. In the Gulf Stream, gusts up to 20 knots in the morning. Seas less than 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Showers likely in the morning. Chance of thunderstorms. Chance of showers in the afternoon. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Reports slowed a bit this week, but overall remain pretty good for those able to get out. Steady pick of springtime action continues on dolphin, blackfin tuna, cobia, kingfish, and the occasional wahoo. Springtime sailfish action remains good as well. Bottom fishing reports remain good, with some solid snapper reports coming in.
INSHORE- Snook fishing remains pretty good right now. As is the case with most things fishing in our area, access remains the biggest challenge. The snook are biting at night around the bridges. Flair Hawk jigs, SpoolTek Swimbaits, and shrimp jigs are all catching the snook pretty good right now. Also hearing some pretty good tarpon reports around the bridges as well. SURF/PIER- Limited access continues to keep the surf reports to a minimum. A few scattered reports of pompano, bluefish, and jacks coming in. Without secluded beach access or a boat it's pretty much a no go these days....On the positive side, when things open up it should be really good! NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...East southeast winds 10 to 20 knots with gusts to around 25 knots. Seas 6 to 8 feet with occasional seas to 10 feet subsiding to 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet. Period 8 seconds. North northeast swell around 3 feet in the morning. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Showers likely. Chance of thunderstorms. SATURDAY...South southwest winds 5 to 10 knots along the coast to south southwest 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots in the Gulf Stream. Along the coast, gusts up to 20 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers in the morning, then chance of showers and slight chance of thunderstorms. SUNDAY...South southwest winds 5 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Slight chance of showers. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Overall (no doubt in part to the low pressure) fishing has been very good offshore. Springtime patterns are really getting rolling. Late season sailfish action remains very very good over the past week, with more than a few boats releasing double digit numbers. As usual, live baits under the kite will be the ticket for the sails. Best depth seems to be roughly 175-225' depending on the day and conditions. Sail bite has been good up and down the line, but they really seem to be snapping best down to the south. Good number of nice size blackfin tuna mixed in with the sailfish, along with a good number of dolphin. The dolphin seem to be in their usual smaller springtime three to five fish packs, with the average size being pretty good overall. The same live baits intended for sailfish will work well for the dolphin, as will trolling squid, bonita strips, and ballyhoo. Make sure to keep a little daisy chain in the spread as well...it's killer on the dolphin and the blackfin tuna. Snapper fishing has been good, with some solid mutton and yellowtail reports coming in. Sardines remain the bait of choice on the bottom. INSHORE- Snook fishing remains the main game in town these days. With some big jacks and tarpon hanging around as well. We are seeing a nice push of springtime mullet pushing through, and that's what all the gamefish are keyed in on right now. Fairly tough access for the most part these days, so be prepared to get a little creative to find somewhere to fish these days. At night try big swimbaits and flair hawk jigs around the bridges. Early morning and late afternoon are great for throwing topwaters right now. SURF/PIER- Surf and pier reports are pretty much non existent still under our current situation. If you can get the boat along the beach. Spanish Mackerel have been around, along with a few scattered pompano. Been some big schools of jacks cruising the beach as well. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...West winds 10 to 15 knots becoming northwest in the afternoon. Gusts up to 25 knots in the Gulf Stream. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Chance of showers through the day. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. SATURDAY...East winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet along the coast and 3 to 5 feet with occasional to 6 feet in the Gulf Stream. Period 7 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Slight chance of showers in the afternoon. SUNDAY...Southeast winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 30 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas to 6 feet. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE: Those lucky enough to get out early in the week found very good fishing offshore. The late season sailfish bite remains very good in 150-250' of water. Dolphin fishing was fair this week, with a few good size fish coming in the same depth as the sailfish. Blackfin tuna remain around in good numbers in 150-250' of water. Trolling a small feather is a solid bet for the blackfin. Kingfish are scattered up and down the 120' ledge in good numbers. Bottom fishing remains solid as well, with some good snapper catches reported.
INSHORE- Snook fishing remains very good inshore right now. The snook are definitely getting ready to move to the inlet. Bridges close to the inlet remain a excellent choice for the snook. Other inshore reports are a bit slow (NO doubt in part to extremely limited access currently). SURF/PIER- Well...Can't really write anything here. Let's just hope when we can get back on the beach and pier the fishing is on fire! NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...North northeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas to 9 feet. Period 10 seconds. North northeast swell 5 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SATURDAY...East northeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet. North northeast swell 4 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SUNDAY...East winds around 10 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas to 9 feet. North northeast swell 3 to 6 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd |
