OFFSHORE- Good fishing offshore right now for those that can get out. Strong late season sailfish bite, with several boats finally getting some double digit days. A scattering of dolphin around, along with some blackfin tuna in 300-400' of water. A surprising number of wahoo around the past week, with most coming in 120-150' of water. A few cobia along the 120' ledge as well. Snapper fishing reports remain strong.
INSHORE- Snook fishing continues to get better as the fish begin to move towards the inlet. Best bet will be to fish the bridges at night, especially on an outgoing tide. Flairhawk jigs, SpoolTek Swimbaits, and the new savage line thru mullet are all good lure choices for the snook. Jacks are cruising around the ICW, along with a handful of tarpon. Best bet will be to fish them at first light or as the sun goes down. SURF/PIER- WELL...With both the beach and pier CLOSED...I honestly have nothing to write about here. Maybe up the coast? NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...East winds around 10 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas to 6 feet. Period 8 seconds. North northeast swell 3 feet in the afternoon. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SATURDAY...Southeast winds around 10 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas to 6 feet. Period 11 seconds. North northeast swell 3 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. SUNDAY...South southeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Nice dolphin bite over the past few weeks. The best bite on the mahi has been 300-400' of water from the Breakers to Palm Beach Inlet over the past few days. Trolling ballyhoo, squid, and bonita strips remains a solid choice for the dolphin. Been a few well formed weedlines and some floating debris that have been holding a majority of the dolphin. Mixed in with the dolphin have been a decent number of blackfin tuna. Most of the tuna are on the smaller side, so keep a small daisy chain out for best luck on them. Along the 120' ledge the kingfish and some cobia remain scattered up and down the line. Sardines will be the best bait choice for the kings and cobia. Bottom fishing remains good, with some nice catches of yellowtail and a few mutton snapper coming in.
INSHORE- Snook fishing improved this week with nice warm weather. The snook are keyed in on springtime mullet currently. Live mullet fished along seawalls and under boat docks are a good bet during the day; while a flair hawk or big swimbait is a good choice at night. The first part of the outgoing tide has been best for the snook as of late. Mixed in with the snook have been a fair number of jacks; including a few real nice ones. Live mullet or noisy topwaters are the way to go for the jacks as well. Sandperch are biting very well in the ICW right now on small pieces of shrimp. Still a few sheepshead hanging around the bridges, with a few mangrove snapper beginning to move in as well. SURF/PIER- Pompano reports were very good this week along the beach. Decent pompano catches coming from just north of the Juno Beach Pier all the way up to Hobe Sound. Sandfleas, clams, and FIshBites are all producing good numbers of pompano. Best bite will be lowlight periods of the day and also at the end of the hightide. The Juno Beach Pier has had a very good croaker bite this week, with fresh shrimp being the bait of choice. The Jupiter Inlet has been hot this week with a solid pompano bite on Doc's Goofy Jigs, as well as a few snook beginning to show up. The snook were quick to jump on freelined live croakers. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...East southeast winds 15 to 20 knots with gusts to around 25 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Period 5 seconds. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. SATURDAY...East southeast winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. SUNDAY...East southeast winds around 10 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE- Much nicer looking weather report than the past few weekends. Dolphin fishing improved over the past few days, with some solid catches coming in 200-300' of water. East winds should help keep the dolphin pushed in closer and negate the need for long runs offshore. Trolling bonita strips, squid, and ballyhoo is a good bet for the dolphin. You can also set up a drift in 200' of water, put some chum out, and let the dolphin come to you. Sailfish bite has been better down to the south of us, but still a few hanging around in our neck of the woods. The kingfish should be along the 120' ledge in good numbers, along with a few cobia as well. Backside of the full moon could also provide a little wahoo bite this weekend. Bottom fishing reports remain fair to good, with some decent snapper catches coming in. Sardines will remain the bait of choice on the bottom.
INSHORE- Snook fishing was better this week with warmer temps. The snook are keyed in on live mullet in the ICW and Loxahatchee River right now. The bridges are also holding snook at night, especially on an outgoing tide. Flairhawks, big swimbaits, and diving plugs are all good lure choices right now. Mixed in with the snook should be a few god sie jacks SURF/PIER- Pompano bite has been good this week. Conditions look good for the upcoming week for the pompano to bite into the weekend. Clams, sandfleas, shrimp, and FishBites are the baits of choice for the pompano. A few bluefish biting bottom baits at the pier this week. Spanish mackerel are around as well. The spinner sharks are around in solid numbers finally. Should be some pretty good action this weekend.... NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...East northeast winds 5 to 10 knots along the coast to east northeast 10 to 15 knots in the Gulf Stream. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. . FRIDAY NIGHT...East winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. SATURDAY THROUGH MONDAY...East winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Thanks For Reading, Todd OFFSHORE: Well...Another lovely weather forecast for the upcoming weekend! Sailfish action has been slow this week, but conditions do look good for them to bite this weekend (thought the conditions don't look so nice to actually go fishing!). The Juno Beach Pier to Jupiter Inlet this week in 150-220' of water did have some sails around, along with some decent size dolphin. Live goggle eyes and blue runners under the kite remain the tactic of choice for the sailfish and bigger dolphin. Kingfish are still around in good numbers. The 120' ledge is a good starting spot for the kings, but they have been scattered from 100' to 220' of water depending on the day. The 120' ledge has also been producing a handful of cobra, but not quite the numbers you would expect to see for this time of year. Snapper fishing was a bit on the slow side this week, and probably won't drastically change over the weekend based on the conditions.
INSHORE: Snook fishing had started to improve this week, but another spring front will most likely slow them back down this weekend. Look for snook fish to really start rolling as we see more consistent warm weather in a row soon. The snook have been in the Loxahatchee River around boat docks and seawalls during the day; and stacking up around docelights and bridges at night. Look for the snook to be keyed in on mullet along seawalls, and shrimp around the docks and bridges. Some big bruiser jacks around the Loxahatchee River this week. The jacks are also keyed in on mullet along seawalls...they just go about attacking them a little different than the snook do. The Home Sound flats are holding a nice little mixed bag of fish early in the morning. Been a few snook, jacks, ladyfish, pompano, and a few others from marker 40 to 44 in the ICW up that way. Sandperch action has been very good in the ICW on small pieces of shrimp. SURF/PIER: Early in the week saw some good surf and pier action, but strong southeast winds limited most action as of late. Changing weather with the front this weekend could fire up the fish (If the water doesn't end up to cloudy and dirty). Pompano bit good again this week. No hot spot to speak of as the fish seem to be really moving quick. The pompano bite has bounced around from Singer Island up to Home Sound and pretty much everywhere in between. Sandfleas, clams, and FIshBites will be the bait of choice for the pompano. Spanish Mackerel and a few bluefish are also scattered up and down the beach. The Bobber rig with a clark spoon is a solid choice right now as the fish seem to be feeding heavily on glass minnows. Croaker have been biting live shrimp very good at the Juno Beach Pier this week. Spinner shark fishing has not been as good as it should be this week, but a few of them are around. Fresh chunks of cut bait remain the bait of choice for the sharks. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...Along the coast, west northwest winds 10 to 15 knots becoming north 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon, Seas around 2 feet building to 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet in the afternoon. In the Gulf Stream, west northwest winds 15 to 20 knots becoming north in the afternoon, Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet building to 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas to 9 feet in the afternoon. Gusts up to 30 knots in the Gulf Stream. Period 5 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Slight chance of showers in the morning, then chance of showers in the afternoon. SATURDAY...North northeast winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts to around 30 knots. Seas 5 to 7 feet with occasional seas to 9 feet along the coast and 8 to 10 feet with occasional to 13 feet in the Gulf Stream. Intracoastal waters rough in exposed areas. SUNDAY...East winds 20 to 25 knots with gusts to around 30 knots. Seas 6 to 8 feet with occasional seas to 10 feet along the coast and 7 to 9 feet with occasional to 13 feet in the Gulf Stream. North northeast swell 3 feet. Intracoastal waters rough in exposed areas. Thanks For Reading, Todd |
