OFFSHORE: Fishing was a bit slower offshore this week. Dolphin fishing remains good out deep (800-1200' of water). Most of the fish have been on the small side; but still a few around that need a little gaff assistance to come aboard. Lots of life along the 120' ledge right now. It will be primarily bonito, big blue runners, and sharks; but definitely other stuff in the mix as well. A wahoo, cobia, sailfish could just as easily join the party as well. Scattering of kingfish around as well. Snapper fishing remained good this week along the bottom. Sardines remain the top bait choice.
INSHORE: The snook fishing has been good this week inshore; especially around the spillways. When the spillways are open a DOA Terror Eye is a killer lure to get snook bites. All catch and release on the snook right now so be careful with them and make sure they swim off strong. Mangrove snapper action remains good inshore this week. A scattering of jacks and tarpon are mixed in the Loxahatchee with the snook. SURF/PIER: Catch and release snook fishing remains the main game in town these days; with the fishing being very good over the past week. The snook will be the most active during the early morning hours, late in the afternoon, and on peak parts of the tide changes. Good number of snook around the Juno Beach Pier, Jupiter Inlet, and up and down the beach right now. Lots of good opportunities to get out and catch one right now. Scattering of Spanish Mackerel around the Juno Beach Pier waiting to bite crappie jigs and small live baits. The Juno Beach Pier has also been holding a nice number of Mangrove Snapper; especially early in the morning. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...Southeast winds around 10 knots. Seas around 2 feet.
