Weekend Fishing Outlook (8/28-8/30/15)

Read Now

OFFSHORE- Weather will no doubt play a factor in this weekends offshore fishing, but at time of writing Friday and Saturday are looking pretty doable.  Sunday may very well be a lost cause this weekend. The August full moon has not disappointed this week with some good wahoo catches out of both Jupiter and Palm Beach Inlets.  High speed trolling with jethead lures and yo-zuri bonitas is doing well, as is pulling the islanders with a split-tail mullet or horse ballyhoo.  Look for most wahoo bites to be in 120-300' of water, especially early in the morning and late in the afternoon.  Mid-day may find the wahoo out a little deeper, or schools of small blackfin tuna will pull them away from the edge. Easterly winds on Saturday should help push the dolphin in a little closer, with 300-500' being a good area to start and work shallower or deeper depending on what you find.  Kingfish action was good early in the week, but has tapered off slightly as the week has gone on.  Still hearing some reports of nice mutton snapper being picked at off the bottom.

INSHORE-  One more weekend of catch and release snook fishing, before the season opens on Tuesday.  The weather this weekend is looking very fishy, and should really have the snook fired up inshore.  The bridges should all be very good at night, especially on the outgoing tide.  If Tropical Storm Erica brings us much rain it could really ignite the spillway snook bite as well.  Some scattered finger mullet schools have been showing up, and this storm could really get some big bait schools to start flowing into our area.  The mangrove snapper bite has remained good around the bridges at night.  Sheepshead action has also been fair around the bridges and seawalls.

SURF/PIER- Snook fishing has remained strong at the Juno Beach Pier this week, with the snook biting free-lined baits on top very well.  Should stay very good through the weekend, especially if the storm helps get the mullet run started a bit early for us.  Don't be surprised to see some nice mangrove and mutton snapper invade the inlets with the passing storm.  Could be in for some very good fishing here coming up...gonna be worth checking out.

Thanks For Reading,
Todd

FREIGHT TRAIN FISHING REPORT- Good week of fishing for us.  Been getting sailfish bites pretty much everyday.  Catching the kingfish pretty good this week, along with a handful of mutton snapper.  Wahoo fishing has been good, and should be great the next couple days.  And with the looks of the weather we maybe in for some red hot snook action.  Lots of good stuff going on, give me a call about different trip options.
Thanks,
Capt. Eric
