Weekend Fishing Outlook (8/26-8/28/2016)

SHOP UPDATES:  Have to start this weeks fishing report with a HUGE "Thank YOU" to everyone for their help,  sharing, social media blitz, etc on the "Lure in his pants" bandit incident.  The case is in progress, but things look good for a fairly quick resolution.  Pretty awesome to see all the local support for a small business!

In other shop new news...We have a nice little assortment of "Jig Skinz" in-stock now.  Super cool product to bring new life back to your old beat up and/or chewed up plugs and metal jigs (See pic below).  Look for a quick video on this product in the near future.

Rumor has it there may be a few pop-up sales this weekend...keep an eye out!  Weather may turn south this weekend, so it'll be a great chance to score a few deals!

NOAA MARINE WEATHER:
FRIDAY...EAST NORTHEAST WINDS AROUND 10 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET WITH OCCASIONAL SEAS TO 5 FEET. DOMINANT PERIOD 6 SECONDS. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
SATURDAY...EAST NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET WITH OCCASIONAL SEAS TO 6 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MORNING. SHOWERS LIKELY. A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON.
SUNDAY...EAST SOUTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET WITH OCCASIONAL SEAS TO 8 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. SHOWERS LIKELY AND A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS.

OFFSHORE:  Not a great looking forecast for the upcoming weekend.  Too bad about the weather, because the backside of the full moon has been great for the wahoo.  Solid wahoo catches over the past few days in 150-250' of water, with the best catches coming out of Jupiter Inlet (Palm Beach Inlet also has been producing some wahoo). Split tail mullet, horse ballyhoo, and big bonita strips have been getting bites, as have the always popular Yo-Zuri Bonita.  Morning bite has been the best for the wahoo, but the afternoon bite is producing a few as well.  Depending on what the weather does this weekend, the dolphin fishing could fire up.  Those putting some live bait out along the 120' ledge could be in for a solid dolphin bite along with a few sailfish.  Kingfish action slowed this week, but a few were hanging out on the inside of the 120' ledge.  Snapper fishing remains good, and this weather may get a good push of muttons on the inshore reefs and rock piles,

INSHORE:  Should be a snook fishing kinda weekend.  Snook season opens on Thursday, so get out this weekend and scout out those opening day spots.  Don't be surprised if the weather helps accelerate some finger mullet showing up.  If it does it may be lights out snook fishing.  Look for the bridges to pop off at night, and the River should be holding them during the day.  Spillways may fire up again as well.  If the finger mullet do start to show the tarpon and jacks should also be right behind.  Could see a few redfish pop up around inshore as well as some mutton snapper...all dependent on what the storm does.

SURF/PIER:  Looks like a fishy kinda weekend from the pier (Surf fishing may prove a little tough).  If the surf doesn't kick up too bad the snook should fire up good with the change in weather.  The spanish mackerel, bonita, and jacks should bite well this weekend.  Snapper could get pushed into the pier and inlets in good numbers.  A few bluefish are starting to show up.  Mullet shouldn't be too far away...could be a really fishy weekend!  Be safe and keep an eye on the weather, but if it looks OK definitely give it a shot!

Thanks For Reading,
Todd
