OFFSHORE- Dolphin bite was good this week out deep, with 1200-1500' of water holding a decent number of fish. For the most part it was smaller school size dolphin, with a few good ones thrown in the mix. Usual summertime dolphin patterns (Well formed weed line, debris, rips, etc), and be prepared to cover some water to find them. Scattered kingfish bite along the 120' ledge. A handful of wahoo around, a decent sign for the next full moon! Snapper fishing has been very good in 60-90' of water. Been a fair mixed bag of yellowtail and mutton snapper, with a few decent mangrove snapper mixed in.
INSHORE- Snook fishing has been very good around the inlets. Live croaker and sand perch will be the best bait for the snook during the day. At night look for the snook to be biting around the bridges on flair hawk jigs and big swimbaits. Mangrove snapper have also been biting around the bridges. Live shrimp and small pilchards will be great bait choices for the mangroves. SURF/PIER- The Juno Beach Pier has been good this week with a nice mixed bag of action. Decent number of tarpon cruising by the pier, along with a few kingfish. Rapala X-Raps will be a great lure choice for both. Snook fishing has also been very good at the Juno Beach Pier. Live croakers and sand perch are a great choice for the snook. A few pompano are being caught north of Jupiter Inlet early in the morning. It's early, but a few mullet are trickling down the beach. Another month or so and it should be on! NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...East southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Period 5 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop.
