Weekend Fishing Outlook (7/12-4/14/2019)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Dolphin fishing was a bit off this week, with no defined pattern for them.  Reports of dolphin, mostly smaller fish, have been coming from 100' to 1200' of water.  Try to find good defined weedlines and/or large floating debris for best luck on the dolphin.  This SHOULD be a great weekend for wahoo fishing.  The full moon is on Tuesday and the wahoo should be around.  If the seaweed isn't too bad high speed trolling or trolling a split tail mullet on a planer will be a great choice; especially early and late in the day.  Look for the wahoo to be in 100-200' of water during low light periods of the day, and out deeper when the sun is up a little higher.  250-350' is a good depth to look for wahoo when the sun is up a bit higher.  Kingfish action has been good this week along the 120' ledge.  Snapper fishing was good again this week.  Lots of bonita and sharks (along with other species mixed in) along the 120' ledge from the Juno Beach Pier up to Jupiter Inlet.

SURF/PIER/INSHORE- (Combined report this week for a bit different look...)  Catch and release snook fishing has been very good over the past week, especially on the days that the seaweed is not too bad along the beach.  The snook have been cruising the beaches, are hanging at the Juno Beach Pier in good numbers, and are also stacked up in both Jupiter and Palm Beach Inlets in good numbers.  Each area has a slightly different tactic/bait for the snook so be sure to swing by the shop and we can get you dialed in on any of them.  The resident backwater snook have also been biting well.  The Jupiter Spillway opened briefly this week and the snook were snapping while it was open.  Scattered mangrove snapper reports coming in, but no great numbers to speak of.   A nice summertime swell would be really nice to help push the snapper inshore for us.  A few resident summertime pompano have been caught this week north of Jupiter Inlet.
