OFFSHORE- Weather this week has kept reports (and fishing pressure) for the most part to a minimum this week. Sailfish action (a bit deeper than the usual winter time hangouts of 120-200) in 200-300' of water was good again this week with quite a few fish around. Blackfin tuna, including some good size ones still, were around in the same 200-300' depth range. Live baits fished 15-20' below the surface are the way to go for the bigger Blackfins. Coming up on the full moon this weekend...should be some wahoo around. Hopefully all this weather doesn't mess up the water quality too much and the hoo's snap a bit! Dolphin fishing remains hit or miss at best. Kingfish action in along the 120' ledge remains pretty good, with some solid size fish around. Snapper fishing was fair again this week, with a few cobia still being caught on the bottom as well.
INSHORE- Snook fishing at the Spillways has been very good this week. Don't forget we're in June already...they all have to go back for a few more months. Flair Hawk jigs, Swimbaits, and swimming plugs have all been good choices for the snook at the spillways currently. Still a few tarpon around inshore, as well as a few jacks. Other inshore action has been a bit slow. SURF/PIER- Still a surprisingly good bite from some late season pompano over the past week. Sandfleas and FishBItes remain the bait of choice for the pompano. Look for the early morning and late afternoon to be best. Spanish Mackerel are still being caught at the Juno Beach Pier, with white crappie jigs being the lure of choice for them. Catch and release snook fishing remains very good at the Juno Beach Pier and in the Inlets. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRIDAY...Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots with gusts to around 20 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Period 4 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Showers likely. Chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
