OFFSHORE- Dolphin fishing was good again this week; it just takes some time(and fuel!) to go find them out deep. The best dolphin catches came out of 600-1000'; with some fish out even farther than that. Most of the dolphin have been caught off large weed patches and floating debris, but don't pass up any color changes or current rips as they have been holding mahi as well. Trolling to cover water, live baiting around debris, or chumming and chunking are good options to get the dolphin. The bonita are back in summertime numbers with some good numbers of blackfin tuna mixed in. Kingfish action remains good from Juno Pier to Jupiter Inlet during low light periods. Snapper fishing has improved as well. Lots of good stuff going on,and a nice weather forecast...it's a wonderful combo!
INSHORE- Last weekend to invite a snook home for dinner, so if you haven't got your keeper yet this is the last chance for a few months. Snook action remains good around the bridges at night, and is improving daily at Jupiter and Palm Beach Inlets. Other inshore action is slow in general. SURF/PIER- Some nice permit catches from Juno Pier this week. Whiting and croaker continue to bite well on shrimp and fishbites. Snook are hanging around the pier in good numbers. Schools of tarpon are randomly cruising the beach. Quick Note...Sorry for the late/short report this week everyone. Unexpected day off taking care of Fisher, who was a little under the weather, threw off the normal Thursday Report writing. I'll be sure to update it if anything new and exciting breaks open!
