Weekend Fishing Outlook (5/29-5/31/2020)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Dolphin reports were very scattered this week.  Hard to say where to go look for them as reports of scattered dolphin came in from 250-1500' of water.   Blind trolling produced some dolphin, as did running and gunning in search of floating debris.  Small ballyhoo, bonita strips, and trolling squid are all good bait choices for the dolphin right now.  Blackfin tuna are being caught in 200-300' of water on small trolling feathers and small daisy chains.  Kingfish bite has been pretty good in 100-200' of water from the Juno Beach Pier to Jupiter Inlet.  Live sardines are the top bait choice for the kings, with dead sardines also producing a fair number of bites as well.  Snapper fishing has been a bit day to day.  One day the mutton and yellowtail reports are very good, the next day it seems tough to buy a bite.  Sardines remain the bait of choice on the bottom.

INSHORE-  Snook fishing remains good inshore right now, especially closer to the inlets. Jupiter Inlet has had a good snook bite over the past week.   Last weekend to invite a snook home for dinner for a few months so don't miss out on the opportunity!  Still a fair number of tarpon around inshore, along with some nice bruiser jacks.  Mangrove snapper fishing has been improving inshore as well.

SURF/PIER-  The Juno Beach Pier has had pretty solid snook action this week.  The snook have been biting live baits, dead sardines on bottom, as well as swimbaits early in the morning.  Spanish Mackerel action has also been good at the pier, with white crappie jigs being the best lure choice.  Still a fair number of late season pompano around, especially as you travel a little farther north.
