Weekend Fishing Outlook (5/10-5/12/2019)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Summer tournament season really kicks off this weekend with the Grand SLam KDW, and the forecast as of now looks pretty fishy for it!  Kingfish bite has been good this week, with some solid size fish being caught between Palm Beach and Jupiter Inlets.  The kings seem to be holding best in about 120-150' of water.  NO super hot spot to speak of as the fish seem to be bouncing north and south on a pretty regular basis.  Drifting with live sardines, threadfins, and pilchards is top bet for the kings right now; while trolling deep baits is also a good choice for them.  Mixed in with the kingfish have been a fair number of blackfin tuna, a few early season wahoo, and few late season cobia as well.  Dolphin reports remain scattered all over the place, but they are being caught if you can get out and find em.  Swordfish reports seem to be pretty good over the past few weeks for the daytime guys.  Snapper reports seemed a bit mixed this week, depending on the day and who you talked to...

INSHORE-  Snook fishing seems to be heating up pretty good inshore, and should only improve now as we move towards
spawning season for them.  Bridge fishing at night, especially on an outgoing tide, is the way to go for the snook.  Flair Hawk Jigs, big swimbaits, and shrimp Jigs have all been good choices for the snook right now.  Some jacks pushing around inshore right now along with a handful of tarpon.  Starting to hear of a few more mangrove snapper taking up their summertime homes inshore.

SURF/PIER-  Nice little push of late season pompano this week along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier.  Snook fishing continues to improve along the beach and at  the pier as well.  Dead sardines are still working well at the pier, and the snook are also starting to bite the live baits as well.  Fat Spanish Mackerel have been being caught at the Juno Beach Pier as well.  Croaker and whiting are biting fresh shrimp in the first trough.  Some big jacks cruising along the beach right now if your looking for something bigger to pull on.
