Weekend Fishing Outlook (3/3-3/5/2017)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Not exactly ideal offshore fishing conditions this weekend!  The past week has seen some fair sailfish action, scattered dolphin and blackfin tuna, along with some kingfish.  Snapper fishing has been good on the bottom.  This is looking like a good weekend to go through the tackle and start thinking about springtime fishing patterns that should be setting in here very soon.

INSHORE-  Pretty good snook fishing inshore again this week.  The bridges are producing a fair amount of snook, especially on outgoing tide. Shrimp are still the best bait choice for the snook, but that will begin to change as the water continues to warm.  Should be a fair amount of fish on the flats in Hobe Sound and around Munyon Island.  Jacks, ladyfish, scattered pompano, and sheepshead will make up the bulk of the species; with a few others randomly in the mix.  Palm Beach Inlet has had a good number of jacks cruising around; along with a few tarpon along the south jetty.  Also the time of year to see some sheepshead hanging out in the inlet as well.

SURF/PIER-  Pompano fishing was better this week, with Juno Beach finally producing a handful of fish.  Sandfleas, clams, and fish bites will remain the baits of choice for the pomps.  Bluefish have been biting at the Juno Beach Pier at night on cut sardines.  Above average number of snook for this time of year also hanging around the pier.  Spinner sharks are scattered along the beach as well.
