Weekend Fishing Outlook (2/12-2/14/16)

Read Now

OFFSHORE:  Rough week again weather wise offshore has kept reports to a minimum.  Those that have made it out have been finding a fair number of sailfish around, with some boats getting double digit chances.  Live goggle eyes or blue runners under the kite remain the bait of choice for the sailfish; though a thread fin or other smaller bait won't go unnoticed long either.  A few nice dolphin in the mix this week with the sailfish.  Trolling ballyhoo, strips, or squid in 200-300' of water should raise some dolphin; with a few good size ones around.  Scattered kingfish along the 120' ledge; but they have been a little finicky with the funky water conditions and current.  Bottom fishing reports have been scarce.

INSHORE: Snook season is back open, and those putting the time in have been finding a few linesiders around.  No hot spots for the snook right now; but more of a where you can find them kinda deal.  Look for dark mud bottom areas during the day and deeper bridges (especially with good current) to be holding the snook at night.  Live shrimp remains a top bait choice for the snook.  Jacks and ladyfish are around in fair numbers inshore right now.  The cooler water temps should hopefully get any local spotted seatrout biting.  Large amounts of freshwater in the river and ICW have fishing tough inshore overall.

SURF/PIER: Pompano action has been very good this week from the Juno Beach Pier to Jupiter Inlet this week along the beach.  Sandfleas (which are a hot hot commodity right now), clams, and fishbites remain the baits of choice for the pompano right now.  Lots of sharks around for those looking for something big to tussle with.  Scattered bluefish moving up and down the beach, along with some spanish mackerel.

NOAA MARINE FORECAST:

SATURDAY...NORTH NORTHWEST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET WITH OCCASIONAL SEAS TO 6 FEET. DOMINANT PERIOD 5 SECONDS. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.

SHOP UPDATE: Great looking fresh ballyhoo in-stock for the weekend.  The live shrimp have been really nice, and we should have a good amount this weekend as well.  Had a few issues on the website to work out, but in the next day or so we should once again have products going up daily again in the online store.

Thanks For Reading!
Good Luck This Weekend,
Todd
