OFFSHORE- Sailfish are attracting the most attention offshore these days, and the conditions look like they could bite pretty good this weekend. The past week has had a fair to good sailfish bite with a few boats getting five plus chances. Live goggle eyes and blue runners under the kite are the best bet for the sails, and will also get the attention of any big passing dolphin or wahoo as well. Best depth for the sailfish has bounced around between 150-225' for the most part, depending on water conditions. Haven't got a lock on the best area as of late, but the Juno Beach Pier to just north of Jupiter Inlet is always a safe area to start. Fair number of kings along the edge, along with a stray wahoo and cobia as well. Nice little scattering of dolphin over the past week. Bottom fishing was fair this week. Heard a handful of good mutton reports, along with good numbers of yellowtail snapper.
INSHORE- Catch and release snook fishing has been fair this week, though passing cold front this weekend will probably slow it down. The shrimp jig has been the ticket around the bridges as of late. Live mullet along seawalls during the day is the best bet for the snook. Sheepshead and Black Drum have been biting well in the ICW. The cold front this weekend could help get a few more pompano moving around inshore. SURF/PIER- Bit of a tough week again surf fishing wise. A few more pompano around this week, especially north of Jupiter Inlet. Bluefish action was also a little bit better this week. Spanish Mackerel have been scattered along the beach in fair numbers. Definitely a increase in the number of sharks around as well this week.
