Weekend Fishing Outlook (12/2-12/4/2016)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Sailfish bite was good this week, and conditions look right for it to continue through the weekend.  Most boats have been getting at least a few shots with some seeing double digit chances.  Live baits under the kite will be the best bet, with 100-200' of water being a pretty good depth to put them up.  Mixed in with the sailfish have been a decent number of dolphin.  The dolphin have been eing caught on both live baits and trolling.  Small naked ballyhoo and bonita strips are both good choices for the dolphin on the troll right now, and will also do the job of raising some sailfish as well.  Not much to report on the kingfish right now, but bottom fishing inside of the 120' ledge remains good for this time of year.  A few cobia showing up as well.

INSHORE-  Snook season is winding down, but the snook are still around and biting well.  The bridges are producing a fair amaount of bites at night, while the grassflats are producing some snook during the day.  Lowlight periods and moving water will be key for getting the most bites out of the snook.  Spotted seatrout are scattered around the Hobe SOund and Munyon Island grassflats as well.  Some good action onjacks in the Lake Worth Lagoon and ICW.

SURF/PIER-  Slower action on the pompano this week, but still some around.  Early morning and late afternoon bite are producing best, with sandfleas and clams remaining the bait of choice.  Should hopefully see another push of fish in the near future with passing of next couple cold fronts.  Scattered SPanish MAckerel and bluefish along the beach.  Look for both species to be most active early and late in the day.  A silver spoon, diamond jig, or gotcha lure are all great choices for the beach right now.
