OFFSHORE- This week has seen some good dolphin fishing, and if the weather forecast for the upcoming week holds; the dolphin should continue to bite pretty good. East winds have helped blow the dolphin in a little shallower; with dolphin catches being reported in 100-300' of water out of both Jupiter and Palm Beach Inlets. Trolling ballyhoo, bonita strips, squid and small jet head lures to cover water is good; as is drifting while heavily chumming. In along the ledge a few scattered sailfish are starting to show. A blue runner or goggle eye under the kite is a good choice for the sailfish; and will seldom go unnoticed by a passing kingfish or wahoo. Stick to 120-200' of water for a good shot at catching a nice mixed bag of fish right now. Those drifting will live baits may have a little better chance at the sails and cobia, but trollers can also figure on seeing some blackfin tuna in the mix as well (be sure to keep a small trolling feather in the spread for that reason!). Snapper fishing has remained very good this week, with some good yellowtail and mutton snappers being caught. Sardines remain a great bait choice for bottom fishing. Lots of good stuff offshore right now...GO if you have a chance! NOAA Marine Forecast-below. .FRIDAY...EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET. DOMINANT PERIOD 4 SECONDS. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. SATURDAY NIGHT...WINDS SOUTHEAST WINDS 5 TO 10 KNOTS. SEAS AROUND 2 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. SUNDAY...EAST SOUTHEAST WINDS 5 TO 10 KNOTS. SEAS AROUND 2 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. SUNDAY NIGHT...EAST SOUTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 15 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. A CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS. INSHORE- Still a few small pods of mullet around, but the massive schools have really started to thin out. This can make for some explosive fishing as the snook, tarpon, and jacks are just not ready to give up on the easy meals. Live mullet fished along good looking seawalls and docks are not going to go unnoticed for long. Look for the snook to be fired up around the bridges at night. Still a great time of year to be throwing affair hawk or big swim bait. Sheepshead action has been good around area bridges, and the slow mangrove snapper pick is still on going. Above average air temps will keep the action best at night or during low light periods of the day. Munyon Island and Hobe Sound Flats are slowly starting to come to life. Mostly jacks and ladyfish for now, but a lot of fun on light tackle. SURF/PIER- Slightly slower along the beach this week, but still some fish around to keep things interesting. Bluefish remain a solid bet first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon. A silver spoon should do the trick if your into tossing lures, while those more into soaking bait should find success with sardine or mullet chunks. A fews pompano are being caught each morning and afternoon, with clams and sand fleas being the top producing baits. Starting to see a good number of blacktop sharks moving along the beach as well. SHOP UPDATE- Lots of great stuff in shop right now. Big selection of Smith, Ocean Eyes, and Costa Sunglasses. Awesome assortment of KScott, Skinny Water Culture, and Bluefin shirts in stock (Plus some great clearance deals on assorted shirts from same companies!). Huge selection of rods right now, with more n the way as well, Too much to write about...just come see it! Thanks For Reading, Todd FREIGHT TRAIN FISHING- Had a few great fishing days the end of the week.
