Weekend Fishing Outlook (1/15-1/17/2021)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Quite a range of weather offshore this week, and the fishing varied pretty widely as well with the weather.  When the wind has had some north in it the sailfish have been biting fairly well.  Live goggle eyes under the kite in 150-250' of water from the Juno Beach Pier to Jupiter Inlet is a pretty good bet to get a chance at the sailfish.  Decent number of dolphin mixed in with the sails over the past week as well.  Kingfish remain scattered along the 120' ledge in pretty good numbers.  When conditions lined up right this week the bottom fishing has been very good.  A handful of cobia have been caught in 90-100' of water, with threadfins and sardines being top bait choices.  Snapper fishing has also been very good this week.  A good number of mutton snapper and yellowtail snappers biting well!

INSHORE-  This week saw fairly good action  on the inshore side of things.  Sheepshead have been around in good numbers, along with a few black drum.  Live shrimp will be a solid bait choice for both of them.  Try fishing the shrimp on a small troll rite style jighead for best luck.  A handful of trout moving around the Munyon Island flats this week.  Catch and release snook fishing remains pretty good.  A few reports of some Pompano pushing around inshore, along with a few bluefish.

SURF/PIER-  Some decent surf fishing this week.  Spanish Mackerel action remains pretty solid up and down the beach.  Bluefish action improved north of Jupiter Inlet this week.  Silver spoons, GT Ice Creams, and cut bait all being good choices for the blues.  Pompano action was a bit hit or miss this week.  A few decent catches, but it sounds like the best pompano action remains up to the north.
