OFFSHORE- Well...November rolled in, in regular November looking fashion (see weather report below....Sunday sure looks like a nice day to go!). Not going to be much of a weekend for a trip offshore. Leading up to the weekend the fishing has been pretty good. Still a fair number of dolphin around, along with improving numbers of sailfish. Blackfin tuna have also been showing in good numbers. Solid bottom fishing this week, with good mutton and yellowtail reports coming in. Again though...see weather below...that's largely irrelevant this weekend.
INSHORE- Good snook fishing inshore right now. Still a fair amount of mullet around and the snook are still locked in on them. It won't be long before they make the winter switch over to shrimp (and the shrimp jig!!!!), but for now they are still biting the big stuff good. Swimbaits and Flair Hawk jig bite has been very good at the bridges at night. Outgoing tide has been best, but don't rule out incoming tide (especially if the water is on the dirty side). The spillways have also been producing a decent number of snook. Enough rain in the forecast that we could see them open over the weekend. SURF/PIER- Surf fishing has been very good as of late, but there weather isn't looking so good for that this week. Pompano fishing has been very good. Numbers are way up, unfortunately most of them are on the smaller side. A few keepers in the mix though. Bluefish are starting to show up in better numbers. They for the most part are more than willing to grab a topwater popper or silver spoon. Cutbait (sardines or mullet) will also get the bluefish's attention in a hurry.
