Morgan and P-Nut here taking over this weeks fishing report. Don’t worry… We got this!
OFFSHORE- First, the sky’s will be blue but the ocean is going to pick up today (Thursday). In fact, there will be a small craft advisory for today. Hopefully by Saturday or Sunday it will calm down but the forecast is not really in our favor. Dolphin reports are still coming in, with depths still bouncing around all over the place. Trolling Ballyhoo with skirts seems to be the ticket. P-nut and I have also heard some reports of Blackfin Tuna as well. Sailfish are slowly showing up using live bait. INSHORE- Again, this week we received another cold front. Therefore, small tackle presentations with the cooler temps will work better. We recommend the same set up Todd mentioned last week: Live shrimp, shrimp jig, Thumper Shrimp, DOA Shrimp, and 3" NLBN all really turn into top baits for the snook as temps fall. We are hearing reports this week of Sheepshead, Jacks, and Black drum biting better as the weather is continuing to cool down. SURF/PIER- There are some more reports of Mackerel showing to the north but you have to find them. If you are willing to put in the time and effort Blue Fish, Pompano, and Jacks are still around. As Todd wrote last week, white crappie jig remains an effective choice for all around action. For the pompano a bright colored Doc's Goofy Jig is the top lure choice. When the wind is blowing a Got-Cha plug or small diamond jig is a great way to go. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...Winds E SE winds 15 to 20 kt. Seas 3 to 5 ft, occasionally to 6 ft.
