July 4th Weekend Fishing Outlook (7/3-7/5/2020)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Dolphin fishing was a little hit or miss this week; but still a few reports coming in.  Depths for the dolphin bounced all over the place; with some being caught in a 100' and others in 1300'.  No big dolphin to report, but still a few decent size ones mixed in with the schoolies.  This should be a really good weekend for wahoo fishing.  The full moon is on Sunday, weather conditions look nice, water quality has been good, and plenty of bait around for the wahoo to eat.  Look for the wahoo to be in 120-150' of water early and late in the day; and a little deeper (200-300') when the sun is up a little higher.  High speed trolling with a Cowbell or Yo-Zuri Bonita is a good option early or late in the day.  When the sun gets up a little higher try sliding out a little deeper and get the baits down.  A split tail mullet behind a planer or trolling sinker is a good idea; as is a Nomad DTX minnow.  In on the edge the kingfish and bonita have been around in good numbers.  The kingfish bite has been best at night with the moon, but they are still biting a little during the day as well.  Snapper fishing remained good this week.  Some good size mutton snapper around , along with some big yellowtail as well.  Should be a really nice weekend offshore...just be ready for a crowd!

INSHORE-  Catch and release snook fishing remains the best bet on the inshore side of things.  Fish early and late for best luck with the snook.  Look for the snook to be closer to the inlets for the most part.  The spillway bite has been slow with no rain to speak of.

SURF/PIER-  Juno Beach Pier and local beaches closed this weekend.  Not much in the way of access this weekend on the beach.  Still some good schools of minnows along the beach up and down.  Tarpon, jacks, and snook have all been around the minnow schools.  Some sharks in the mix as well.  Should be good snook fishing on the backside of the full moon when the beach opens back up Monday.
