Weekend Fishing Outlook(12/6-12/8/24)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Sailfish action remains good offshore. Live baits (goggle eyes and blue runners) under the kite are the best bet for the sails.  Best depth has bounced around depending on water conditions; with 120-175' being a good general depth to start the hunt.  Not as many dolphin reports this week; with mainly a few bigger dolphin coming in the same depth as the sailfish.  Blackfin tuna reports have been good in 200-300' of water.   Bottom fishing was a bit slower this week.  Conditions overall were not the most ideal offshore this week.  If reports improve as the week goes on we will try to update the report.

INSHORE-  Snook fishing slowed a bit this week with the cooler weather, but still a fair number around. The shrimp jig bite has picked up with the cooler weather, especially around the bridges at night.  As the air and water temp fall the snook's metabolism naturally slows down, which makes smaller baits and slower presentations a key.  Still a week and a half left before the season closes(12/15); so be sure to get after them now if you're looking to bring a snook home for the holidays.  Sheepshead action has improved over the past week, with a few black drum in the mix as well.  The jacks have been in Palm Beach Inlet in big numbers.

SURF/PIER-  A little slower this week along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier.  Pompano action did seem to improve a little as the water cleaned up.  Fishbites and sand fleas are the bait of choice for the pompano.   A scattering of bluefish and Spanish Mackerel  around.  The jacks, including some good size ones, have been cruising the beach in decent numbers. Croaker and whiting have been biting in the first trough on small pieces of fresh shrimp.
