OFFSHORE- Sailfish action has been really good the last few days, with a number of boats getting double digit chances. The sailfish bite has been good from Palm Beach to Jupiter in 150-250' of water. Live baits under the kite and a deep bait or two is the way to go for the sailfish. Goggle eyes and blue runners are a solid choice for the sails. A handful of nice blackfin tuna have been mixed in with the sailfish. Dolphin fishing seemed to pick back up a bit this week with a handful of reports coming in. No hot spot on the dolphin with depth ranges seeming to bounce all around. Wahoo reports slowed a touch; but the reports on them should improve this weekend as the moon gets bigger. Bottom fishing has been fair this week. INSHORE- Catch and release snook fishing remains the best bet inshore these days. The snook have been the most active early in the morning, late in the afternoon, and then especially at night. During the day look for the snook to be laid up under boat docks, mangrove edges, and seawalls with current on them. At night look for the snook to be around bridges and under docklights. Warm water has the snook's metabolism fired up ready to eat. Fish moving water (the top of the outgoing tends to be the best) for the best luck on the snook. Flairhawk jigs and bigger swimbaits are great lure choices for the snook. Snapper fishing has been fair, with the best action coming at night. Small pilchards and shrimp will be the way to go for the snapper. SURF/PIER- Surf fishing remains a bit slow, though we are starting to get glimpses of things breaking open. A few early season mullet pods have been reported up to the north (Sebastian/Vero); shouldn't be long till we start to see some early season mullet showing up. Snook fishing remains fair along the beach, especially early in the morning and late afternoon. The snook will be in cruising the trough looking for croakers and sand perch, so cast parallel to the beach in the first trough. The Juno Beach Pier has been active, with a handful of species around. A good number of blue runners and small mackerel have been around. Snook fishing has been good at the pier, with the morning and late afternoon being the best.
