OFFSHORE- Dolphin fishing seemed to slow a bit this week offshore; but still a fair number of fish around for those putting in the time. A little deeper (Outside of 800') seemed to be working better for the dolphin. The coming full moon next Wednesday will hopefully have the wahoo biting this weekend. Seaweed has made all types of wahoo trolling tough; so hopefully it cleans up enough to get the planers or high sped gear out. A few (slightly random) big blackfin tuna this week in 150-250' of water. The bonita will no doubt be devouring everything along the 120' ledge from the Juno Beach Pier to Jupiter Inlet. Snapper fishing remains decent this week, with some pretty good mutton reports coming in. Mangrove snapper fishing should also improve this weekend ahead of the full moon. INSHORE- Catch and release snook fishing remains the main attraction inshore these days. While the best numbers of snook will be in the inlets, a fair number will still be caught in the Loxahatchee River and ICW as well. During the day it's primarily live baits, especially in the inlet. The snook bite at night around the bridges has been fair as well. The top of the outgoing tide is the best bet for the snook, especially if targeting bigger snook with flair hawks or swimbaits. Snapper action inshore this week was fair, and it should be good this week as well as the moon gets bigger. SURF/PIER- Surf fishing remains relatively slow, not an uncommon theme for mid summer. Catch and release snook fishing has been fair, especially first thing in the morning. Small twitch baits (in a pilchard color)l, paddle tails, and small white jigs are great lure choices for fishing snook along the beach. The Juno Beach Pier has been producing some fish this week. Catch and release snook fishing has been pretty good, especially first thing in the morning and later in the afternoon. A few bonita have still been coming through, along with a kingfish or two late in the afternoon. Swimming plugs (Rapala X-Rap or Yo-Zuri Mag Speed) are both great choices. Sandperch and a few croaker have been biting in the first trough on small pieces of fresh shrimp. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas around 2 ft. Wave Detail: E 2 ft at 4 seconds.
