OFFSHORE- Still a scattered dolphin bite offshore, with the better numbers seeming to come out a bit deeper. 800-1200' of water has been fairly consistent on the dolphin. Scattered seaweed has made trolling tough, so look for clean areas with well defined weediness for best results. Small ballyhoo, squid, and bonita strips are all good bait choices. Sailfish action has been very good north of Jupiter Inlet (Better up towards St. Luice Inlet), with many boats getting multiple chances a day. Most of the sailfish will be a bit deeper with 200-250' being a good range to start looking. In along the 120' ledge the bonita (And sharks) are wreaking havoc on anything /everything crossing their paths!!! Kingfish action has been very scattered. Fair bottom fishing reports this week, with a few good buttons being caught by those putting the time in. INSHORE- Overall somewhat tough fishing inshore (Not at all uncommon for this time of year). The Loxahatchee River will have a few snook during the day, but most of the snook will be in/around the inlets. The best snook action will be in the inlets, especially on the top of the outgoing tide. Live croakers, sand perch, and mullet are all top bait choices for the snook in the inlet. At night the snook have been biting flair hawk jigs around the bridges. A few scattered mangrove snapper around inshore, with the best action on them coming at night. SURF/PIER- The surf has been relatively tough to fish this week with the seaweed. The Juno Beach Pier has been the better play. Snook fishing has been good first thing in the morning and then again late in the afternoon. Bonita are still being caught off the end of the pier. Long casting swimming plugs have been producing well. Live baits are always a good way to go as well. Sandperch, and a few croakers, have started to bite a little better in close. Small pieces of shrimp is the way to go for them. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...SW winds 5 to 10 kt, becoming S 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Seas around 2 ft in the morning, then 1 foot or less. Wave Detail: SW 1 foot at 3 seconds and N 1 foot at 5 seconds. Intracoastal waters light chop. A chance of showers and tstms in the afternoon. SAT...S winds 5 to 10 kt, increasing to 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt in the afternoon. Seas less than 2 ft or less, then around 2 ft in the afternoon. Wave Detail: S 1 foot at 3 seconds. Intracoastal waters light chop. A chance of showers and tstms late. SUN...S winds 10 to 15 kt. Seas around 2 ft. Intracoastal waters light chop. A chance of showers and tstms early in the morning.
