OFFSHORE- Pretty brutal looking weekend coming up. Strong winds will have the ocean just about un-fishable. Sailfish bite, especially headed to the south, fired off good ahead of the bad weather. A decent number of dolphin mixed in with the sailfish as well. Live baits under the kite are the best way to go for both the sails and the dolphin. Blackfin Tuna continue to bite well in 200-300' of water as well. Bottom fishing was good early in the week ahead of the weather, with some solid mutton snapper reports coming in.
INSHORE- Snook fishing picked up inshore this week. Strong winds and a good number of mullet had the Loxahatchee River going off pretty good this week, with some solid snook and big jacks cruising the seawalls. The bridges have also started to hold a few more snook as well. Warming weather has the snook eating bigger baits and lures a little better this week. A handful of mangrove snapper around the bridges as well. SURF/PIER- Before the weather went south the pompano were biting good decently again this week. Early morning and late afternoon has been the best bet for the pompano, with sandfleas and FishBites being top bait choices. The Juno Beach Pier had a few jacks this week, along with a few Spanish Macs before conditions deteriorated. Unfortunately conditions look less than ideal for the near future.
