Weekend Fishing OUtlook (3/6-3/8/26)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  Strong east wind has kept the ocean rough and reports to a minimum this week.  Sailfish action remains good, with boats fighting through the conditions all seeming to get at least a few chances, and some boats seeing ten or more fish.  The bite has bounced around; but 120-150' of water from the Juno Beach Pier to just north of Jupiter Inlet remains a consistent bet for the sailfish.  A handful of dolphin mixed in with the sailfish, along with a wahoo or two.  Kingfish action remains fair along the 120' ledge.  Bottom fishing reports were slim this week, but it is about time for the rudder fish and cobra to start showing up on the bottom.

INSHORE-  Inshore reports have not been very good this week.  Snook fishing has been a little off, with even hardcore anglers struggling along.  A few snook biting around the bridges at night, but no solid numbers to speak of.  The sheepshead have been biting fair inshore, but are starting to slow a bit.  The sheepshead will soon start to be replaced with mangrove snapper inshore.  Live shrimp is a solid bait choice for both of them.

SURF/PIER-  Strong east winds have made the fishing tough this week along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier.  Bluefish action was good early in the week; but has fallen off later in the week.  A few schools of jacks have been cruising by, but have overall been tricky to get to eat.  A few snook have started to show up at the pier, with dead sardines fished patiently on the bottom the best bait choice.  It's boring fishing, but is the best way to go for an early season bite.  No great pompano reports this week, but it is time for some reel numbers to start showing up.  Spinner shark action remains good along the beach.  A loud noisy topwater plug is an extremely fun way to target the sharks.
