OFFSHORE- Bit of a bumpy forecast for the upcoming weekend. Conditions look good for a strong sailfish bite on Friday and Saturday. A scattered pick on the sailfish throughout the week. A handful of dolphin reports this week in 300-500' of water. Blackfin tuna action remains good up to the north (Push Button Hill), with a fair number of tuna scattered up and down the line in 200-300' of water as well. Kingfish have been scattered along the 120' ledge. Bottom reports were a bit slow this week.
INSHORE- Inshore fishing has been a bit slow this week. Snook fishing remains a bit slow, but should improve as the weather warms. Best snook has been at night around the bridges. Outgoing tide will generally produce the best action on the snook. Sheepshead have started to thin out; slowly starting to be replaced by mangrove snapper. SURF/PIER- Pompano fishing picked back up this week, with a few good schools moving through. Best action on the pompano has been early morning; with sand fleas and FishBites working well. The arrival of some solid schools of pompano have brought in another good wave of blacktip sharks. Bluefish action slowed way don his week, with only a few around. Croaker and whiting have been biting well on small pieces of fresh shrimp. Small hooks and minimal terminal tackle are the way to go for the croaker. A few snook have been biting at the Juno Beach Pier. Dead sardines and small live croakers are the way to go for the snook. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...NE winds 10 to 15 kt.
