Weekend Fishing Outlook (12/19-12/21/25)

Read Now

OFFSHORE-  The sailfish bite has been good this week.  Early in the week the best numbers were coming south of Palm Beach Inlet, with the bite shifting to the north as the week went on.  Conditions look good headed into the weekend for the sailfish to continue snapping.  150-225' has been the best depth for the sailfish, with goggle eyes under the kites and sardines or pilchards on the flats getting the most action.  A fair number of dolphin mixed in with the sailfish, along with a few scattered kings.  Bottom fishing remains fair this week, with a handful of snapper around.  Sardines remain the bait of choice on the bottom.

INSHORE-  Tough fishing this week inshore for the most part.  Catch and release snook fishing (season closed December 15th) has been fair.  A few snook biting at night around the bridges and docklights.  Outgoing tide has been the best bet for the most part.  A few sheepshead around, but no big numbers.  Scattered pompano reports coming in from Sailfish Flats in Stuart.  A smaller bright colored Doc's Goofy Jig is the way to go for the pompano.

SURF/PIER-  The Juno Beach Pier has been fairly active this week.  A decent scattering of ladyfish, Spanish Mackerel, bluefish, and small jacks have been around.  With a decent amount of life around, the sharks (mainly blacktips) have also been around in good numbers as well.  A few pompano around this week, and conditions do look good headed into the weekend for some more to show up.  A fair number of croaker and whiting around, with pieces of fresh shrimp the best way to go for them.
