OFFSHORE- Sailfish action has been decent this week. Not peak looking conditions for the sailfish headed into the weekend, but some live baits under the kite should get a look or two. A decent number of dolphin around this week, and conditions do look good for the dolphin to bite well this weekend. 250-500' of water seems to be working well for the dolphin. Trolling small ballyhoo, bonita strips, and squid is a solid way to go for the dolphin. Blackfin tuna action has been very good north of Jupiter Inlet. Best bite on the blackfin will be early and late in the day. A good assortment of sizes, but some solid tuna in the mix for sure. Bottom fishing has been good this week. Solid vermillion fishing in 300' of water. Inside of the 120' ledge a decent mix of yellowtail and mutton snapper have been biting. Sardines and squid are the baits of choice on the bottom.
INSHORE- Snook fishing remains the best bet inshore this week. A handful of snook cruising the Loxahatchee during the day, but best action has been at night around the bridges. Outgoing tide has been working a little better for the snook. A mixture of Flair Hawk Jigs, swimbaits, straight tails, and shrimp jigs have been working well for the snook. Sheepshead and black drum action has continued to improve inshore, with fresh shrimp being the bait of choice. A few mangrove snapper around as well. A decent number of jacks roaming around inshore; with a lot of them on the smaller side. SURF/PIER- Fishing remained good along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier this week. Pompano reports slowed a bit; but still a handful of them being caught. Pompano reports seemed a bit better along the beach, with only a few caught at the pier. Bluefish have been around in decent numbers. The bluefish have been biting chunks of sardines and mullet at night very well. Spanish Mackerel have been moving in and out at the Juno Beach Pier. One day will be hot for the Macs, and the next day is slow. The croaker and whiting have been biting very well this week. Small live shrimp and pieces of shrimp are the way to go for the croaker and whiting. NOAA MARINE WEATHER: FRI...E winds around 10 kt. Seas around 2 ft. Wave Detail: E 2 ft at 4 seconds.
