SHOP NOTE: CLOSED EASTER SUNDAY (PUBLIX said it was OK)...
OFFSHORE- Strong east winds will have the ocean a mess this weekend. It won't be fun offshore, but it will be ideal conditions for a good dolphin bite. Those fighting through the conditions will likely find the dolphin in 150-200' of water. Trolling small ballyhoo, squid, and strips is a great way to go for the dolphin. Sailfish bite will likely be good as well; with live baits under the kite the way to go. Good amount of life along the 120' ledge, with the rudder fish and a few cobia around. Conditions will not be nice for it this weekend; but as conditions calm down the fishing should really fire off. INSHORE- Snook fishing has improved this week. During the day the snook have been hanging out around seawalls and under boat docks in the Loxahatchee River. Mullet and pilchards are the top bait choices for the snook. Throwing a topwater early in the morning and late afternoon will also draw some attention from the snook and big cruising jacks. At night the snook have been biting a little better around the bridges. Warming water has the snook a little more likely to thump a flair hawk or bigger swimbait. A few tarpon reports and cruising jacks in the mix as well. A few more mangrove snapper reports coming in this week. SURF/PIER- Fishing has been good this week along the beach and at the Juno Beach Pier. Seaweed has made fishing tough some days, but this fighting through it have been rewarded with a pretty good pompano bite. Snaffles, clams, fresh shrimp, and FIshBites have been the bait off choice for the pompano. Best bite has been early morning ands then again as the sun goes down. The Juno Beach Pier has had a good number of fish around; with a good number of pompano, bluefish, Spanish Macs, blue runners and jacks all around. Snook fishing improved another notch this week at the Pier as well. Strong east winds will make conditions a bit tough, but fishing should be pretty good.
